Motivation is the key aspect of sticking to a fitness routine. There are many ways to gain your fitness motivation and stick to achieving your goal.

Where Does Motivation Come From?

Motivation is, of course, dependent on the individual and their situations. To generalize, motivation comes from a myriad of outside and personal influences and sources that either push yourself to achieve a personal goal or meet a personal standard. Sources can include your favorite music, friends, sports heroes, and the list goes on and on.

Accountability for Fitness Motivation

Personal accountability for fitness motivation can be achieved with the right stand. Sometimes it’s not that easy to get out from underneath those warm covers for a morning workout, or head to gym after a long day at work. Your brain has an underestimated power of rationalizing reasons to not get up and get that workout in.

Finding a workout partner or can be a great way to hinder the often rationalizing of excuses and provide motivation to exercise. A personal trainer can also be a source of motivation, if your spending money to get proper advice and workouts, you’ll probably be more inclined to get out of that bed and to the gym.

Social Media

Social media can be fun way to get motivation and accountability. Follow your favorite motivators on Twitter and join them on fitness chats where you can get valuable advice. Post your updates and accomplishments on Facebook. Use Youtube to post a video blog of your goals and how you’re reaching them.

Music for Fitness Motivation

Music can be an important motivation factor before and during intense workouts. Either heart pumping heavy music or soothing, calm classical can you push you and your motivation to the next level.

Keeping a schedule and maybe even progression charts or spreadsheets can help you visualize your progress. There a plenty of free smartphone apps that can also provide motivation.

Remember that motivation first comes from within, but can also be intensified by the vast number of outside sources and help available at the click of a button.
